Considering when one wants to move to a new home or purchase a new property for investment purpose, it is typical that the tick lists revolve around factors of prices and size of the property, location and the commune distance from your workplace or for schooling purposes etc. Potential appreciation of the property in the near future would also be assessed. The common judgement of the whole decision making process heavily focuses on some real life factors. Certainly, it is not wrong for those points that have been mentioned, however, it may be worth further widening your lists of thinking, not only those practical living factors, perhaps getting a better feng shui for your new home to gain a prosperous future.
Feng Shui has some vital factors and energy that impact on the family's wealth and fortune in the home. Pay attention to some of the following feng shui advice that is most commonly used for selecting your home, If you want your future home to achieve more prosperity and harmonisation.

Feng Shui at the Entrance
In Feng Shui theory, the role of the main door and entrance can not be underestimated. It has influential and determinative factors that affect those people who live in the house. The feng shui principle analogy of the door or entrance describes the function that is similar to the one human’s mouth; what food and how you eat into your mouth will have a great impact on your health.
1. The door must not be opened widely to a large opening area. The healthy and wealthy energy of your home can not be saved and kept.

2. The front door must avoid facing a long straight street, road, or long narrow walkway that may have some negative invasive “Sha Chi” coming through the door. It may result in some serious bad health for your family.
3. The interior must have a small hallway area (玄关) right after you walk into home. Some houses may not be constructed with a hallway area and just directly walk into the living room. This little area has a great function of settling some positive energy coming through the door. In some cases, it may assist to mild down some invasive energy that reduces the risks of having immediate effects to the home.
4. Colour scheme should be bright, warm and welcome in the hallway. The impression of comfy and cosy should be used. It should be kept clean and tidy all the time. The “Positive Chi” such as good wealth and health energy do not stay or come into the dirty front door. This is why some Feng Shui consultants would like to describe this situation as a “Leaking wealth and health” as it has polluted and leaked off.
Feng Shui in the living room
The living room is the most active place in the family, and the feng shui of the living room is related to the overall fortune of the home.
5. The layout of the living room should be squared preferably, in which that will reduce the issue of “Missing Section/corner”, which will affect the fortune of the home.
6. The living room should not be too overly spacious as it only has a few pieces of furniture. It will be so difficult to grow and keep some “Chi”.
7. On the other hand, do not place furniture overly crampy in the living room. The “Chi” is not flowing and stagnated.
8. Sofa is the largest furniture in the home, the key area for the family to sit down and rest or chat. It is better to be placed near or having a wall at the back, it will not only affect the appearance, but also affect the family's fortune. This is featuring your family having some “supportive backup” that affects different aspects of your life. It would be wise to consider how to solve this issue when choosing a new property.
The Colour of the Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is another determinative place within the whole scope of Feng Shui.

9. The colour of the master bedroom is best to use warm, light and bright. Do not use cold too dark colours that create a feeling of loneliness and isolation. Alternatively, a Bazi consultant ( Four Pillars, 八字命理)is suggesting to be appointed to analyse the pinpointing colour to be used to maximise the beneficial “Chi” for the particular person.
10. The bed position should be avoided directly facing from the door. These are typically issues that form health problems. Strictly speaking, the position of the bed should be calculated by the Bazi and Feng Shui master. This would help to uncover the position of the auspicious energy and power.
11. The bed should not be placed facing the toilet. This is the most common mistake by many people resulting from some severe illness.
12. Looking out the window of the master bedroom, if there is a window, avoid a view of seeing an aggressive spiky object that is very close to the view such as a chimney, electrical pylons, street lamp post etc. These are extremely detrimental.
In line with this simplistic view of suggestions, hoping that you will find it useful. The layout of home has a very important feng shui effect on the family's wealth and fortune, If you want to ensure your home is more prosperous and has better feng shui, greater attention should be focused on the overall layout of your home.
